GK. Farmer was born and educated in Kinkora, RE. I. After
graduating from Kinkora High School in 1956, he studied
at St. Dunstan’s University, now the University of Prince
Edward Island, where he majored in history, and received
his BA. (magna cum laude) and a teaching certificate in
1960. He went on to teach, and later obtained a MA. in
theology from Holy Cross College, Washington, DC. in
1968, and a MA. in anthropology from the University of
Virginia in 1970. After further studyin Uganda in 1971 he
returned to Canada and has been teaching anthropology
and sociology since then. At present he is teaching
anthropology at Vancouver Comm unity College in
Vancouver, BC.
