Dear Contributor.
The Committee of Stewards and the Missionary and Maintenance Committee wish to thank you very much for the kind reception you gave the “Every Member” Canvassers last Nov- ember, and your promise of funds in weekly or yearly payments, for both the “Local Expense’ and the “M. & M. Funds” for the year 1937.
When arranging our budgets for these funds, we estimated 011 receiving from you the amount which you indicated, and we sincerely hope you will see your way clear to give this in full, and if at all possible to supplement the same as we are still short for our estimate of neces-
sary funds.
May we suggest, please, that you use the “Weekly Duplex Envelope” and do your ut- most to keep up to date with your weekly offerings. If you have promised a yearly amount, try and make payments at least quarterly, without having to be called on. This procedure, we think, will make it much easier for yourself rather than let it accumulate until the end of the year, and will also greatly assist the committees administering the funds.
Quite a large number of contributors give regularly although not pledged for any defl- nite amount, and we appreciate most heartily what they are doing.
The Committee of Stewards has regular monthly accounts to be met, and if sufficient funds are not received in this way, then money has to be borrowed from the bank at extra ex- ta, ‘ pense. Similarly the Missionary and Maintenance Committee at the Head Office in Toronto is obliged to pay out as much as $75, 000 in interest alone in order to carry on its work, and the 1 cause of that is the fact that so many contributors delay their payments till the end of the year. 1
Therefore whether your contribution is large or small, we would kindly urge you to co— 1 operate in this way. We receive now a very large number of contributions, which perhaps are not large ones, but it is really on these we are depending, as a large number of these means a great deal of assistance. Will your please do your best ?
Below we give you the amount kindly pledged, and the amount received to end of quarter as per date above.
