Dear Contributor :

The Committee of Stewards and the Missionary and Maintenance Committee present to you the second quarterly, or half yearly, report. May we thank you very much indeed for your very kind co-operation and response to our report at end of first quarter. Of course there are always some contributors who, for various reasons, are not able to bring contributions up to date. Should you have been among these why if it is at all possible would you please try and do so.

We would again point out that we have budgeted expecting to have during the year cer- tain amounts as promised. We hope that you will find it possible to give the full expected amount and in many cases we sincerely hope that this may be substantially increased and we can assure you there is ample use for all you can give us.

There are many contributors who have not pledged any definite amount but who are contributing from time to time. We thank all these and can only assure them that the more often these come in and the larger the amounts are the easier it makes it for the proper operat- ing of your Church. Up to the present time we have just barely been able to meet expenditure without incurring any much expense for overdraft at bank. During the summer months, how- ever, is the time when we are liable to fall behind on account of so many being absent from time to time. We would therefore ask you if you will kindly do your utmost to keep up to date dur- ing these months.

There may be some one you know who is not now regularly contributing thru envelope who might wish to do so. Should you know of any such parties and would bring the names to our attention we would be glad to see they are supplied.

The Property Committee found, upon examining the brick work of the Church and Heartz. Hall, a great many loose brick, especially in the buttresses. Many were cracked. This was caused by frost in the foundation.

It was necessary to dig around the foundation of the buttresses and put in forms and cement, also to tar the walls of the foundation so as the clay would lift away. It was neces- sary to remove several hundred broken bricks and replace them with good ones as there was great danger of them falling out in the street.

Your Committee feel that the tops of the towers in front of the Church should be repoint— ed as there appears to be loose bricks there. This would require considerable staging.

In the near future the East end of the Church will have to be repaired. This would be a major repair, costing quite a large sum of money. The nettingover one of the Sydney Street windows will have to be replaced as it is rust-

ed out. The spouting of the Heartz Hall will require repairing, also one of the gutter in the roof.

If finances were available, your Committee would like to see the ground between the sidewalk and street in front of the Heartz Hall and Church hard-surfaced as a great amount of clay is tracked into the Church. At present, owing to cars parking there, it is impossible to grow grass, and hard-surface would look much better than what we have now.

Below we give you the amount kindly pledged and the amount received to the end of the econd quarter. Should there be any errors or omissions would you please advise us.
