1 -The regular Monthly Meeting of the Board of Stewards‘of Trinity 3
United Church was held in the Board Room Monday evening, January 8th. at :
7.30 B. M. The Chairman, Mr. . . Mutch, presided and the following
Stewards were present: Messrs. G.A.Hughes, Reg Taylor, Claude Smith,

The Minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion adopted.
Mr. Carter reporting for the Fuel Committee stated that coal would advance 504 per ten the first of the year. He was given instructions by the Board to look into the matter and get the best price.available.
The following bills after being certified as correct were on motion ordered to be paid:

The following Financial Statement as compiled by the Financial Steward was then read to the Meeting by Mr. G. A. Hughes:

; A special Thank Offering received November 12th. 1939 amounted to $509.87 ' ‘ making a grand total for 1939 of $9209.11. v
The Treasurer, Mr. Reg Taylor, announced to the Meeting that after the above named bills were paid there would be a Bank overdraft of $792.81.
Mr. Mutch reported to the Meeting that he had interviewed Mr. Higgs of the Trustee Board regarding any further financial assistance they could give to the Board of Stewards. '
Mr. Claude Smith, Chairman of Finance, reported on ways and means of cutting down wherever possible on expenditures, and asked the Meeting
for suggestions. This was followed by a general discussion regarding same.
The following seven Stewards just retiring from office, but eligible for re-election are:
Messrs. Hibbert Howatt, Gordon Hughes, Reg Taylor, Fred Chappell, William Rix, G. A. Hughes and Claude Smith. .
