7- mimormowm P. E. i. May 12, 1941 The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Stewarts of Trinity United Church was held on Monday May 12. 1941. The Chairman, G. Claude Smith, presided and the following mwmbers were in attendance: R. E. Muteh, Gordon Avard, R. LePage, J. F. Whear, '. P. MacLeod, T. W} Bentley, 6. 1. Hughes, J. G. Paterson, W. R. Cruikshank, Gordon Hutcheson, we. “owe, Harold Hearts, w. A. Livingstone, Claude Smith. The minutes of the previous month meeting were read and adopted. The following bills were on motion ordered to be paid: Guardian Publishing Co. $5.88 Patriot Publishing 00. 5.10 Maritime Electric (Light) 20.35 Maritime Electric (power) 7.85 R. E. Mutch &Oo. (dust bane) - 11.75 Reports were heard from the various committees. Mr. W. P. MacLeod, speaking for the Janitor Committee, recommended painting of the walls of the basement instead of talsomining them and cleaning and talsomining the other rooms. Mr. Mutch . for the Property Committee stated that his committee had no recommendations to make until they had a complete report from the architect on the condition of the building. The Toilet;Tank in the Social Hall had been_replaced and the Wash Bowl'in thechcir Room repaired. New Air Valves had been installed in the heating system and a bill for same from Bruce Stewart & 00. of $19.25 was on motion ordered to be paid. Mr. Mutch reported that the coats of the choir members had been rifled and suggested that locks be placed on the gown closet doors. .After some discussion on this Mr. Hutch agreed to see that these locks were procured.With regard to the bill from the City for laying concrete in front of the Church, Mr. Mutch reported that the Ladies Lid had already made a payment on the bill and the balance Would be taken care of by them at a later date. The Treasurer, Mr. LePage, reported that the first quarterly installment of the Taxes amounting to $24.19 had been paid. The question of paying the Conference Fund again came up for discuSSion and it was felt that half of this bill should be paid by the MdM. After further discussion it was moved by Mr. Mutch , seconded by Mr. LePase and passed that the Board of Stewarts pay $45.00 as our share of the Conference Fund and that the balance be collected from the M & M Fund. There was some discussion regarding the best time for the evening service. It was suggested that the Chairman of the Board of Stewart: interview some of the Official Board and suggested that the Board of Stewarts were in favor of changing to Standard Time for the evening service. The Financial report as submitted by Mr. Cruikshank showed the cash received May 12th 1941: Decrease Increase Envelopes $2227.66 $156.04 Loose Collections 491,80 § 35.16 Total $2719.46 $120. as 645 packages of Envelopes issued. Ir. Hughes, reporting on the Financial Committee, stated that a thorough check-up had been (made by our contributors. Motion was passed that the Secretary write Harry and Roy Cudmore a letterof sympathy on account'of the death of their mother who passed away Sunday, May 5, 1941.
