TRINITY UNITED CHURCH

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. May 11, 1942

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Stewards of Trinity united Church was held in the Social Hall, Monday, May 11, 1942, at 7.30, p.m. . The following members were in attendance:- mr. G. Cltnde emith, chairman; Messrs' G. A. Hughes, Harry Cudmore, W. R. Cruikshank, Gpddon Award, Fred Moore, R.E. Hutch, W- P. MacLeod, Frank mache, J. A. MBcNair and E. C. Johnstone.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted.

PROPERTY COMMITTEE— nr. maoLeod reporting for the Property Committe . said that hymnaries had been purchased for the_chuéeh~aud choir and presented a bill from Carter & Co. for same.

A letter was read from the Fire Mar hall, mr. Beer, re the re—charging of the fire extinguishers. On motion the groperty Committee was authorized to have this matter attended to. Mr. MacLeod stated that the window had not been repaired as yet but this would be attended to in the near future.

He reported that there was a leak in the entrance of the parsonage caused by the sttling of the foundation; this could be repaired with plaster

at a small cost. '

JANITORS COMMITTBE- nr. Mbore reported that he had made enquiries and found that it was no longer possible to procure the cocoa mats for the en- trance to the church and that the old ones would have to be used for the time being. . He had procured an estimate for painting the entrance to the church. This would cost $150. No definite action was taken an the matter.

FUEL COMMITTEE— Mr. MacKee, reporting for the Fuel COmmittee, read a letter from ME. Rattenbury concerning screened Victorian coal. The letter also contained a government analysis and comparison with Springhill coal.

This coal is available at $7.65 per ton and Mr. Rattenbury was willing to put some in on trial. The Committee were advised to try out a lead of this

seal and report concerning it at the next meeting.

There was considerable discussion on the publishing of the Year Book" _ and dissatisfaction expressed at the fact that it has not as yet.been published.

’As the Committee responsible for having the book issued is appointed by the ' officia1_Board this Board felt that they could take no action but the Chairman,

Mr. Smith, said he would make enquiries of the Committee and see if the issueing could be speeded up.

It was moved by Mr. Cruikshank, seconded by hr. MacNair and passed that the Treasurer be authorized to pay to Prof. Kendall the sum of $80.00 to pay for organ supply during his illness. '
