Heartz Hall, Sep. 10th, 1941
The regular meeting of Session was held as above at 8.30 p.m.,and was constituted with prayer,led by the Chairman.
Those present: Rev.Hugh Miller,Chairman,Messers C.H.llack, A.C.Duchemin,G.P.Huteheson,A.J.Heartz,C.McKay,Dothobinson, W.H.Smith,Ira Shaw and J.H.Ayers.
The Chairman reported that he had received Miss Bertha Douse,who is ill,into the membership of the church,and had also administered to her the Sacrament of Holy Communion, and was asking Session to confirm his action in so doing. The Pastors action was upon motion agreedyconfirmed. It was also on motion agreed thatxher sister,Miss Daisy Douse
the nameof who claimed to be a member of the church,but whose name is
not on the Roll,be entered thereon as a member of Trinity.
It was moved,seconded and carried that the Sacrament of Holy Communion be observed on October the 12th,at the morning service.
The meeting was then asked to decide on a date,when an offering might be taken for what is known as the Moderator's rund,the purpose of which is to suplement the salaries of ministers,who have not received their full stipend.It was agreeg that an offering for this be taken on Sunday.fiqacdb. Sep.2 th.
The Chairman reported that Rev.Dr.Ross,returned mission- ary from China, will speak at the mornintng service next Sunday,Sep.the l4th,and as an offering has been requested to assist in defrajing his travelling expenses,it was agreed! that envelppes for that purpose be distributed in the pews.
The Chairman also reported that Dr.Tuttle,the Moderator, would be here in Charlottetown on The 213t.inst.and a ess the morning congregation,in his official capacity.It 3 arranged that his transportation to Summerside for the evening service,would be taken care of by C.H.llack.
The matter of follow-up work re pledges unredeemed for War-saving Certificates in the interests of the Church debt was discussed,and it was felt that it would have to be dealt with from the Toronto office.
