Gonzague Arsenault Children: 1) Joseph Alexis (8 January 1871), died on 25 May 1871. 2) Louis Gonzague (21 June 1872) married on 16 February 1897 to Julie Arsenault, daughter of Fidéle Arsenault and Eulalie Arsenault of Abram's Village. Died in November 1914. 3) Pierre Jéréme (30 September 1873) married on 8 February 1898 Obéline Gallant, daughter of Joseph Gallant and Balthilde Arsenault of Urbainville. They lived in Maximeville before moving to Summerside where they both died: Obéline on 13 June 1936 and Jéréme in March 1949. No children were born of this union. 4) Henri Jean-Baptiste (Jack) (15 July 1875) married on 17 September 1895 to Balthilde (Tilly) Poirier, daughter of Pierre Poirier and Anne Arsenault of Mont-Carmel. They lived in Cape Egmont. Jack died on 27 June 1955. He owned and operated a lobster factory. He was the first person in the region to own a car, a Ford which he bought in September 1916. 5) Pierre Maxime (19 April 1877) married 1 October 1900 Agnés Arsenault, daughter of Damien Arsenault and Emilie Gaudet. They lived in Cape Egmont. She died on 13 June 1939 while he died on 22 November 1956. 6) Marie Blanche (9 August 1878), died 9 March 1879. 7) Marie Catherine (5 July 1880) married 16 April 1901 Léon Arsenault, son of Damien Arsenault and Emilie Gaudet. Marie passed away on 19 November 1955 and Léon on 20 April 1968. 8) Marie Philoméne (2 April 1882), died on 10 April 1882. 9) Rémi (1 October 1883) married 24 May 1915 Célina Martin, daughter of André Martin and Evangéline Pineau of Bloomfield. They lived in Bloomfield. After his wife's death, Rémi was married on 12 October 1944 to Mary Catherine Clements from Lot 7. Rémi died on March 1963. 10) Marie-Anne (3 January 1886) married 20 February 1912 Bruno Gallant, son of Joseph Gallant and Adoline Gallant of Cape Egmont. They lived in Cape Egmont. Bruno passed away on 3 August 1949 and Marie-Anne died on 4 November 1981 at the age of 95. She lived her last years at the Summerset Manor in Summerside. 11) Emile (7 February 1888) married 6 March 1916 Jessie Poirier of Tignish. After his wife's death, he married on 14 May 1923 Josephine Gaudet, daughter of Amable Gaudet and Alma Gaudet from St. Nicholas. They lived in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Emile died in February 1952 and Josephine on 29 January 1978. -20-
