This genealogy perlaining to the original descendant George Bruce families of Prince Edward Island has been compiled from recorded information received from Bruce family descendants in Canada and the United States, family Bibles and cemetery records.

By chance if your name is not included, I am sorry. I did the best that I could from the information received in the time allotted. I regret I was unable to locate each and every Bruce descendant. Lord willing the few that could not be located will be reunited soon with other family descendants.

Having lived well over half a normal life expectancy, nol giving much though to the past, at first to look back to the early days ofa great-grandfather was a long way. It was exciting to find a name that was a link between you and the past. It is then you realize that there were so many here before you. The journey into the past trying to find the Bruce descendants was a time consuming challenge, but one that I enjoyed.

My having made it known that I had feelings for my ancestors, opened a door into other Bruce minds, and they as well began to realize that not much thought had been given to the past or to their family background. All their cooperation is what is going to make this book possible, and the family reunion in 1999, a success.

Too often we depend on others. When the time does come that we would like to have vital information about our families we discover those who could have helped have passed on, and in most cases the vital information has gone with them.

This is why I felt we must have a Bruce family reunion. | hope and trust that on July 9, 10 and 11 of 1999 when we all meet at Red Point and Kingsboro in Prince Edward Island that the work to get here was well worth the effort.

A pleasant journey to you all.
