When Arnold was six weeks old, she packed all their possessions, claimed her husband's casket and with her five young children headed for home. The trip by boat and train took between five to seven days. They arrived at her mother-in-law’s home and stayed there for several months until Nettie was able to find a home of her own. (Maggie) Scott, born ca. 1888, (daughter of Alexander Scott and Flora Gordon) died January 8, 1916, interred at Kingsboro Prince Edward Island, in the East Point Baptist Church Cemetery, married (2) Edith MacLaren, born July 3, 1899, North Lake Prince Edward Island, (daughter of Robert MacLaren and Mariah Archibald) resided in Bothwell P.E.|., died April 12, 1993, Souris Prince Edward Island, interred at Kingsboro Prince Edward Island, in the East Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert died January 28 1942, Bothwell Prince Edward Island, interred at Kingsboro Prince Edward Island, in the East Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Maggie died in childbirth. At her death, the baby was raised by his sister Mabel and Bessie spent some time with her great-aunt Christie Robertson. At his marriage to Edith, he was able to reunite the family and he and Edith added two more to the household. They resided in Bothwell in the home now owned by Preston Coffin. Wesley built his house in the yard, the home that is now owned by Wesley's widow Martha. Rob is described by his children and grandchildren as a gentle and very mild mannered man, remaining calm while others around him would become upset. He had a great sense of humour. Rob and Charles Dingwell took on the task of installing a wrought iron rail between the choir loft and the main area of Kingsboro church. When the curtain was hung, he was heard to remark, "there now...the boys can't look at the girl's knees." Coming from a large family, he started working at an early age, engaged in fishing and farming as well as ; being handy with his hammer and nails. He lived a quiet life and saw all the children from his first Rob Bruce marriage, married to spouses of their own. His death was the result of a stroke that he suffered while cutting firewood on his property. His friend Roy Dixon found him standing against the load and it was thought that the horses had stood there most of the afternoon waiting on a command. Children by Margaret A.
