David (Dave) Bruce born ca. 1853, Red Point Prince Edward Island, resided in East Baltic PEI, married Annie Bruce, born 1859, Valleyfield Prince Edward Island, (daughter of Alexander Bruce and Jessie MacLeod) resided in East Baltic PEI, died January 22, 1924, Hyde Park Massachusetts, interred at Kingsboro Prince Edward Island, in the East Point Baptist Church Cemetery. David died July 10, 1913, East Baltic Prince Edward Island, interred at Kingsboro Prince Edward Island, in the East Point Baptist Church Cemetery. . Little is known of Dave and Annie's family. She was the sister of John Bruce who married Dave's sister Catherine (Katie). To our Knowledge Dave and Annie were not related to each other. Dave was the second youngest child. When his father divided up the original farm, Dave was a young man still living at home. It is not known when or how the farm was acquired in East Baltic. After their marriage, they both worked hard on their land to provide a living for their large family. Dave was supposed to be an extremely strong man. Many men tried to beat him in a lift, but none ever could. Annie was described a rare beauty, not only physically, but spiritually as well. They were devoted to the Baptist Church, not only giving financially, but of their time and talents as well. An excerpt from Annie's obituary reads "Ever sympathetic in the sorrow and burdens of others, she entered as an angel of light into many a home ministering and comforting them with her kind words." She needed comforting herself while she nursed Dave through the last two years of his life as cancer ravaged his body. After Dave's death she remained on the farm. In 1921, Annie moved to Hyde Park Massachusetts to be with Randolph. She died there and her remains were brought to the Island for burial. The funeral service was conducted from May's home in Kingsboro by her pastor Rev. MacWalker.
