Betty Sweet 1996-2000-2005-2010-2011

Betty was born the daughter of Irma and Johnnie MacPherson, Glenwood, Prince

Edward Island.

She graduated from Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown, P.E.I., and taught school

for two years before marrying Ken Sweet of

Knutsford, PEI.

After moving to the family farm, Betty became a dedicated full-time farm wife and mother, a lifestyle she enjoyed very much. She and Ken had five children: Janet,

John, Irma, Michael, and Diane.

For many years, Betty was employed with the Unit 1 School Board as a substitute teacher. In January 1972, Betty joined the Knutsford Women’s Institute and in September 1992, she became a life member. Betty served in all executive positions and for 20 years she held the position of Red Cross Water Safety district convener. Betty is always willing to help and is an active participant in all K WI activities

and over the years has served dutifully for, “Home and Country.”
