Margaret Ann ‘Maggie’ (Boulter) Dyment 1938 t. Maggie (as she was fondly known) was born to Nathaniel Boulter and Elizabeth (MacWilliams) Boulter in Milburn. She grew up near the family mill, attending «. the local school until she furthered her education in Summerside, becoming a seamstress. In 1901, she married William Scott Dyment, a farmer and carpenter in Knutsford. In addition to her household duties, she attended to the needs of the Dyment’ s extended family. Will and Maggie raised three daughters, Annie, Velda and Blanche. Family stories abound of Maggie’s seemingly unlimited energy and ability to work. One such saga tells of her preparing a large supper meal for the men who were threshing in a back field of the farm. After walking to deliver the food, she continued to stook the grain while the men rested and ate their meal. She then collected the milk cows on her journey home, completing the evening milking and other chores of the day. In November 1928, she became a charter member of the Knutsford WI, serving that year as its first vice-president. A long-standing member of the organization, she worked as a member in many capacities supporting the various projects the WI championed.
