Elva Dennis Elva Mae Dennis (Smallman) was not a past president, but she was a faithful and dedicated member of the Knutsford Women’s Institute. Elva Mae Dennis married William Edgar Smallman on November 21, 1934, and from this union three children were born: Kathleen Elaine, James Parmenas and Ellen Mae. Elva was born

July 2, 1913 and passed away January 28, 1993. She

lived all her life in Knutsford where she was brought up on a farm, the daughter of Harriet and Locksbie Dennis. Elva helped her husband Edgar with the farming and found the time to attend meetings at the local one-room country

school in Knutsford to become a member of the Women’s Institute.

Elva was a very caring and compassionate person, always a friend, and ready to help

families in a time of need.
