Barbara Sweet is the daughter of Charles and Bea Rix. She and husband Frank, reside in Knutsford and have four children:Heather, Stephen, Allison, and Shelley. Barbara was the Supervisor of Housekeeping at O’ Leary Community Hospital for 17 years. She joined Knutsford WI in 2005. Hardworking and ambitious, Barbara was an efficient and meticulous treasurer for many years. An

avid quilter, her talent earned her a First Prize Ribbon and

Premier’s Prize for best hand quilted quilt in Show at the WI Display during the Provincial Exhibition, Old Home Week 2013. Also, a quilt donated by Barbara to the Provincial WI Gala Dinner raised $650.

Thelma Sweet, a former WI member, was the daughter __ of Lorne and Eleanor Betts of Glenwood. She and her ‘ late husband, Sam, had four children:Amy, Donna, Glen, and Grant. Thelma was the administrator of the O’Leary Regional Services Centre for three decades. She joined the Knutsford WI in 2003. She was an excellent member and for several years, she was

treasurer. During this time, major renovations were

taking place at the Community Centre and Knutsford WI was the benefactor of Thelma’s business expertise. Sadly, Thelma departed this life on March 31, 2021.
