Myrtle MacWilliams than $600. Etta Harris married Avard Harris and moved to Lincoln, Boston, in their early marriage. They moved back to Knutsford and took over the family farm. They had three children: Lawrence, Melita and Orell. Along with the WI, she was very active in the Baptist church and community. In retirement they moved to O’Leary. Etta passed away in 2014 at the age of 96 years old. She was an active member of the Knutsford Women’s Institute as well as the Springfield West Institute when she lived there. Written by her daughter, Orell Smallman Born Sept 13, 1918, her parents were Jim and Clara Smith of West Point, P.E.I. Myrtle married Haratio MacWilliams August 17, 1938. They lived in Springfield West and farmed until moving to O’Leary and retiring in 1982. Myrtle enjoyed farming with her husband and working outside to help plant and harvest crops. She also enjoyed quilting and knitting for family and friends. And she also generously volunteered her time and quilted quilts for the Knutsford Women’s Institute to use for fundraising. One of her quilts fetched more Myrtle had one son, James, who married Margie Rix, and three sons who passed away at birth. She and her husband also had two daughters.
