A corsage was presented to Mrs. Lilly Adams by Orell Smallman, and a humorous reading on Old Times was read by Lorraine Harris. Three 50 Anniversary pins were presented. Mrs. Fairley Yeo presented one to Mrs. Vera MacArthur, Mrs. Helen Adams presented one to Mrs. Lilly Adams and one was set aside for charter member Mrs. Velda MacNeill. An honour roll of members past and present was unveiled by Mrs. Elva Smallman with Cora Smallman reading names. A photo of the school painted by B.H. Turner was presented by Mr. Robert Woodside in memory of his wife and KWI member Blanche Woodside. The remainder of the evening was spent with pleasurable socializing. The December Christmas meeting was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Adams. Their home was decorated beautifully for the occasion. President Orell Smallman opened the meeting by reciting the poem Home Coming Hearts followed by the Mary Stewart Collect in unison by the 22 members. The instate newsletter was passed around and roll call was responded by a gift for the White Cross. Labels from Island products were collected, and sick committee reported no calls once again. It was moved by Silver Dennis and seconded by Susie Smallman the history of the district be left at the school. Anyone wanting to read could do so there. $19.30 was paid to Lorne Luxton for work he did at the school and $55 was received for sale of another quilt. It was decided that Susie Smallman host the January meeting and roll call will be answered with an article for a layette. Names were exchanged for new Sunshine Pal for the New Year. Gifts were exchanged while Mrs. Isobel Harris played Santa and revealed the names of last year’s sunshine pals. The program reading was by Lorraine Harris. The Bethlehem Road and Come Follow Me was read by Mrs. Verna Smallman and Keeping Christmas was read by Orell Smallman and Christmas by Mrs. Helen Adams.
