Yeo spoke on the upcoming shower for Scott Smallman and his fiancé. Joan reported on the WI county convention held at Slemon Park. She said the guest speaker was very interesting. Isobel Harris and Betty Sweet reported that the highway sign will be taken down. There was a

discussion on grass cutting with name of members and their availability.

Joan Smallman received a Canada flag from MLA Robbie Henderson. She will choose pictures for the WI history and forward to George Doughart. Congratulations were offered to Empress McDowell on receiving the P.E.I. Salute to Seniors Service Volunteer of the year award.

Members were also pleased to see the blanket of Empress’s family including grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren photos stamped on it. A precious gift. Meeting

The September regular meeting was held at the community centre with every one of the 16 members in attendance. Member’s dues were paid. MLA Robbie Henderson was petitioned for removal of the highway sign and Betty Sweet called again the Department of Highways once again. Lorraine Harris reported that Cavendish Farms will convert to natural gas at their plant in New Annan. O’Leary Potato Museum is now known as the Canadian Potato Museum. The hospital committee reported that the palliative care rooms are completed and the. opening took place in August. Devotional was led by Eileen Smallman. She stressed the importance of preparing for the return of Jesus and to strive to be more like him. Program consisted of a hilarious reading by Karen Spencer on a grandmother’s experience at a red light. And Orell Smallman gave a quiz testing their knowledge of P.E.I. Fairley Yeo, on behalf of the school committee, reported a successful year. The community centre and grounds looked good. Grass continued to be cut and flowers maintained and weeded. And a successful shower for Scott Smallman and his fiancé was held at the school in July. As well, an anniversary party for

Charlotte and Abby Lidstone was held in August. Nominating committee brought in the following slate of officers:

The October regular meeting opened with 10 members answering roll call with a Thanksgiving
