well as kitchen being brought up to health standards and the purchase of a new refrigerator. It was decided to ask Kevin Adams to give a quote estimate. Committee and Brenda O’Meara will meet with Kevin Adams as application deadline is July 10, 2015. KWI members will start on fifth panel project in September. Next meeting will be held at the community centre September 9, with annual meeting. Nomination committee is Susan and Eileen Smallman, and auditor is to
be Joan Smallman. Meeting closed with everyone singing O’Canada.
The regular September K WI meeting was held at the school followed by the annual meeting. Karen Spencer sent her regrets as she had to travel to Newfoundland to care for her mother who had broken her pelvis. President Orell Smallman opened the meeting with a reading, It’s September Again, followed by the Mary Stewart Collect and the mission statement. Roll call was answered by 11 members and 12 dues were paid. Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved. There was a problem with the pump and Orell will ask Tommy Smallman to look at it. The New Horizon application had been completed and delivered on time by Brenda Profit with some changes due to cost estimates of the wheelchair-accessible bathroom, septic system, and kitchen upgrade. It was decided the wheelchair ramp would wait until next year. There would not be any response until at least the new year, they were told. Information was given for a pain management workshop to be held September 15, from 1 - 3 p.m. Orell thanked all the members for their support over the year. Then, the annual meeting was held. The financial report was given by treasurer Brenda Sweet, and the 2014 annual meeting minutes were read and
approved.

In October, guest speaker Valerie DesRoche was introduced. She spoke of her new business, Valerie’s Company n’ Care, offering company to your loved ones and to residents and patients of community care facilities. She provided visitation and companionship and her hours were flexible. She also offered 24-hour palliative care services and visits at a charge of $15 per hour. Valerie left business cards for the members. Roll call was answered by nine members and one visitor with a Thanksgiving poem. A donation of $150 was received from Dr. Margaret Anne Woodside thanking the members for all they do for the community. A letter of thanks was
received from Laura and Scott Smallman for the use of the centre for their wedding shower.
