The O’Leary Legion offered a Wellness grant to be used for a community garden for children to be involved in. All the crops would be donated to the Caring Cupboard. Verna reported there were successful CPR and AED training sessions. Jennilyn Delong from the Heart and Stroke Foundation and another gentleman did the demonstrations and provided the information. Scotia Bank was the sponsor of the training program. Treasurer’s report given by Barbara Sweet noted that $592 was made at the bake/yard sale. Hospital convener Betty Sweet reported that mattresses were ordered. Darren MacKinnon of the Co-op donated $25 trays for the yard sale. Sue Marsh of Tim Hortons donated coffee and cups. Thank-you cards were sent to both people. Also, Gena Yeo sent a thank you card to the K WI for their support and letting her sell her books for Love Rwanda African Mission. A congratulations letter was received from Robert Morrissey on the Horizon grant being approved for Phase 1 of their renovation project. The septic tank and washroom renovations would be completed before a wheelchair ramp construction could start.
