KWI members who were all farm girls at one time offered Barb Sweet, Orell Smallman and Betty Sweet as a team to represent them. Tip-to-Tip bike ride was discussed. The KWI held its September meeting at the Knutsford community centre followed by the annual meeting. President Fairley Yeo opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and Joan Smallman conducted the devotion titled Purr-ables from Heaven. Community cat named Pumpkin was a very personable cat sitting with the ladies when they came to meetings. We can take a lesson from Pumpkin, don’t stop meeting together for church and fellowship - it keeps the faith and courage strong. They then shifted to the annual meeting with Fairley extending thanks to all officers for the past year and faithful attendance by everyone. The annual minutes were read by Verna Smallman, moved by Joan Smallman, and adopted. Susan Smallman on behalf of Wanda Adams delivered the elected officers for 2019-2020: Past president — Orell Smallman; president — Fairley Yeo; vice president — Betty Sweet; secretary — Verna Smallman; treasurer — Barb Sweet. After all the conveners were named, Fairley Yeo gave an accurate report of the past year contributions. Back to regular meeting Barbara Sweet, treasurer, collected dues from eight members. Notes and News and WI news included a Pennies for Friendship poem; Hellen Harring Scholarship; and a thank you card from Verna Smallman to all the members for their thoughtfulness and generosity with food to her home and lovely plant when her husband died. It was moved by Joan and seconded by Orell Smallman that they give $15 to the International Peace Garden and $10 to Women Feed the World. Isobel Harris reported that the grass had been cut at the school all summer with the last cut by Simon Smallman. It was suggested to speak to the manager of the Festival of Small Halls next year about plans for entertainment before committing to the event. The ladies decided to make lunches for 50 people who are participating in the Tip-to-Tip bike tour again in October. Joan Smallman then moved the meeting adjourn.
