Thank Thee. Verna Smallman also read three other poems. Orell Smallman conducted the program, the history of rug hooking. She displayed a lovely mat made by her mother, Etta Harris, years ago. Fairley brought the meeting to order with the members repeating the Mary Stewart Collect and the Mission Statement. Roll call was answered by nine members reading a Thanksgiving poem. Notes and News included an Island Buffet with Margaret Prouse October 16; Festive Country Christmas; 2019 FWIC calendar and 2021 Triennial News. 2018 — 2021 FWIC. Four members plan to attend the fall workshop at Sherbrook Community Centre, October 20. The courtesy committee sent a birthday card to Eileen Smallman on her 90th birthday. Wanda Adams thanked her secret pal for the beautiful bouquet of flowers she received. Sick committee sent carnations to Lorraine Harris who is sick in hospital. Fairley Yeo extended thanks for the use of the school in the fall of 2019 for her Grade 11 reunion supper. She also delivered the lunch to 50 participants of the P.E.I. Tip-to-Tip bike tour at the Mill River Experience. Betty Sweet had no report of the hospital because the WI and the hospital meeting took place on the same day. Thank you notes were sent out to all the volunteers who did the grass cutting: Muncy Harris, Clayton Harris, Wayne Arsenault, Clair MacNeill, Charles Adams, and Norman Woodside. The date for the Christmas party will be December 5 at 7 p.m. Meeting closed with singing Bringing in the Sheaves. The November meeting of the KWI was held at the home of Isobel Harris. In absence of the president, Betty Sweet chaired the meeting. The devotional was presented by Orell Smallman based on Remembrance Day. Those who are old enough remember the anxiety of seeing the men going overseas and some making the supreme sacrifice. Think of the sacrifice God’s son made for us. Meeting closed with the Remembrance prayer written by Annie Smallman. Most members attended the Remembrance Day service in O’Leary. Seven members answered roll call. Minutes were read and approved. Correspondence included a letter about a cancer self-care support program. Donations were made for Blooming House and cooking contest. No one was available and no members were to attend the fall workshop. Fairley contacted DarMac to turn water off at the school. Dr. Margaret Woodside once again donated $100 to the institute. A thank you card was to be sent to her. Chelsey Maclssac sent a donation of $50 for the use of the school for her bridal shower. Orell Smallman and Fairley Yeo visited Lorraine Harris in hospital. Members were asked to attend our late member Marion Luxton’s funeral. Also, a donation will be made to the Knutsford cemetery in her memory. Plans were made for the Christmas party “22
