A note of thanks was read by Mrs. Alvin Yeo to retiring officers. Auction of homemade pickles

followed and proved most enjoyable.

In October at the home of Mrs. Raby Adams a regular meeting of the institute took place. Roll call was answered with a joke from members. Mrs. Robert Woodside and Mrs. Raby Adams were appointed delegates to attend the Leadership Workshop at the Cape Wolfe Hall. Secretary will forward money for registration. Participants received instruction in Parliament procedure, writing motions resolutions and in preparing presentations. Members gained a lot of confidence

after taking this course; some ladies went on to serve on legislative and judicial positions.

A letter was read stating that a meeting will take place at the school concerning next year’s convention and it was reported that Knutsford was to amalgamate for this convention with O’Leary. Mrs. Robert Woodside read a letter from the convenor of United Nations. A discussion on upgrading and opportunities for all interested followed. It was decided to cater to the annual

Mason’s banquet if it could be at the end of November.

The November regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Arnold Smallman had a Remembrance Day

theme. Mrs. Lorraine Harris recited a reading called: Being your Brother’s Keeper.

Mrs. Robert Harris and Mrs. Raby Adams gave a report on their leadership workshop course, and

Mrs. Foster Harris read a letter from the conveyor of Cultural Activities.

It was decided the secretary buy a $3 gift for the mentally ill. Mrs. Heath Woodside sent a note

of thanks for a treat sent to her after her baby arrived. Plans were made to cater the Mason’s banquet on November 18.

Mrs. Foster Smallman read a poem on automation and Mrs. L. Harris read a Biblical reading on

Remembrance.
