and re-leading of all the windows in the Cathedral and Chapel had been completed. -
Discussed for many years, St. Peter's Mother's Union was organized in 1980, ably assisted by ACW members.
The Rochford Square Child Care Centre opened its doors in 1981. Financed by Federal Grants and tuition and aimed at the Single Parent and those in lower socio—economic circumstances, the Centre is sponsored by 'Binney'and run by a :Board consisting of staff, parents, Binney and Vestry members. It is housed in the Cathedral owned Rochford Square House and is now in its fourth year of
operation.
The 'Summer Visitors' programme commenced in 1982, chaired by
Betty MacKeen, 'Binney' Past President, with parishioners 'on duty' for guided tours of the Cathedral and Chapel, from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July and August.
Two new on-going projects got underway in the Fall of 1984:
The Tape Ministry, given by former Binney President Peggy Holland and her family as a Memorial to Arthur, and with the capable assistance of Loran Fevens, the Cathedral services are now available on tape for the use of members and friends of St. Peter's as well
as for our Sunday School Teachers. 'Binney' members and the young people of the parish deliver these tapes upon request.
In early December a 'Map and Pin' Day took place —- 'Binney' had previously identified all members of the Cathedral Family, with pins, on a large map. This was explained at the Sunday services and interested parishioners were invited to become Team Captains of their Areas by Project Chairpersons Pat Rogers and Connie MacMillan. This coupled with Ernie Buffett' s new Alphabetical Pidgeon Holes in the Porch of the Cathedral will enable all members of the parish
to 'keep in touch'and be up— —to- date with the services, programs
and continuing life of the Cathedral
For the ACW members of St. Peter's, all of these activities have one purpose only .... to provide additional means to keep our Cathedral functioning and beautiful so that we may continue to
find within its walls and among its people the strength and love to carry out OUR LORD'S MISSION.
THANKS BE TO GOD. Respectfully submittee By Connie MacMillan \
