Our meetings have opened with singing, followed by Scripture readings, meditation from Living Message, study period and business. Meetings close with prayers and a social hour and luncheon is enjoyed. I remember the Board and many members coming by train from Charlottetown and various other places for a semi-annual in 1918. This took three days - a day to come, a day for the meetings, and a day to go home. These delegates were entertained in our homes. We fittingly celebrated our 50th anniversary in 1964 with our beloved president, Mrs. W. J. Dennis , telling our story. Many others who have served as presidents down through the years are: Mrs. Ethel Newcombe , Mrs. Marguerite Maynard , Mrs. Hazel Dennis , Mrs. Ruby Newcombe , Mrs. Jeanette Birch , Mrs. Lucy Maynard , Mrs. Laura Birch, Mrs. Janet Dennis , Mrs. Eleanor Maclntyre and myself. We entertained the Semi-Annual in 1973 and in 1974. Many Board members and sister members from St. John's and St. Peter 's, besides representatives from Lot 14 Presbyterian Ladies Aid and Lot 14 United Church Women, helped us celebrate the 60th by a church service followed by a reception at the Rectory. A few years ago, the Board members were entertained at Laura Birch's home. We miss her very much from our midst. Our activities are varied. We have housecleaned both churches each year as well as the weekly cleaning. Looked after the brass and linens, mended prayer and hymn books, helped redecorate the Rectory, visited and took treats to the elderly and shut-ins, collected stamps, knitted for the Day Care Centre, as well as donations to the Sunday School and to the Diocesan Branch , held pantry sales, catered to social events, harvest balls, etc. We help the Parish Council by collecting for Anglicans in Missions, and for church funds besides our donations to many projects. We packed many bales for the Mission Fields in valued at over $100 In later years these bales were not needed. I wonder! We thank God for his blessings over the past years and pray that we may go forward with renewed zeal in the work of the Master. Respectfully submitted, A. Enid Birch (r)
