1896.Soon after he became Rector he formed a branch of the Gleaner's Union.§
This was an organization first launched under the auspices of the Church

z from the older members of the congregation. At this time the people were usi i 2
to getting financial help from the English Socities, therefore the idea of,
giving money to India and China was not popular. The younger members took ufi the idea with enthusiasm and a splendid branch of the Gleaner's Union was formed and carried on for many years. 3
Rev. Mr. Wallis was succeded by Rev. H.C.Aylwin in 1897. He continued the?
Gleaner's Union and discussed organizing a Woman's Auxiliary. It was not unQ
the incumbency of Rev. A.W.Nicholls on October 2nd.1907,that the organizatifi
of " New London Parish Woman's Auxiliary of the Missionary Society of the I Church of England in Canada1 was organized. This organization later became: known as a branch of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Anglican Church of Canada
The first officers of this branch were as follows : President --Mrs. Nichols. the rectors wife.

The membership fee was 10¢. The first Dorcas work was a quilt. the first of many to be made and sent to a succession of Mission schools along with many pieces of clothing and other articles. W.A.Pledge money was given to other wOrthy causes from time to time.
