St. Mark's A.C.W. Kensington Rev. G.C.Wallls became the Incumbent of the Parish of In May, 1896.Soon after he became Rector he formed a branch of the Gleaner's Union . This was an organization first launched under the auspices of the Church Missionary Society in London, England in 1866. This was the parishes first Missionary endeavour,and being new, it met at the beginning with opposition ] from the older members of the congregation. At this time the people were us«| to getting financial help from the English Socities, therefore the idea of givino- money to India and China was not popular. The younger members took uj; the idea with enthusiasm and a splendid branch of the Gleaner's Union was forced and carried on for many years. Rev. Mr. Wallis was succeded by Rev. H.C.Aylvrin in 1897. He continued the Gleaner's Union and discussed organizing a Woman's Auxiliary. It was not unt| the Incumbency o^ Rev. A.W.Nicholls on October 2nd,1907,that the organization of " Parish Woman's Auxiliary of the Missionary Society of the Church of England in Canada was organized. This organization later became knot"'! as a branch of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Anglican Church of Canada* The first officers of this branch were as follows : President — Mrs. Nichols , the rectors wife. 1st Vice-President — Mrs. W.J.Paynter , St. Stephen's Church 2nd Vice - President — Mrs. Harry Harding , St. Thomas Church Treasurer — Mrs. J.B.Profitt , Recording Secretary — Ms Laura Walker , Corresponding Secretary — Mrs .J.G. Townsend , Kensington . The membership fee was 10^. The first Dorcas work was a quilt, the first of ^any to be made and sent to a succession of Mission schools along with many pieces of clothing and other articles. W.A.Pledge money was given to other wOrthy causes from time to time. Rev. A.W. Watson reporting for the New London Parish in 1910 said that "the Woman's Auxiliary and Mite Societies were useful adjuncts to church work and Sunday Schools were active ".
