In 19'? the New London W.A . took over the complete furnishing of a room in the Prince County Hospital. The W.A .members and other church people kept up this fund and provided everything asked for until the new hospital was built 1 in 1950. In 1917 Rev. Charles Neish ,Rector,gave praise to the W.A . and to the Junior W.A . under the leadership of Mrs .JvA .Doughaflt, Kensington . Mrs. Atwood Blakeney was leader of the Junior W.A. In for many years. In T9?9 the Semi-Annual Meeting of the Woman* s Auxiliary of P.E ..I. was held in Kensington . In 19^7 there were four branches of the W.A. In P arish, it St. Mark's. Kensington , St. Stephen's Burlington , St. Thomas French Riv©tf and . The total membership was approximately sixty. In addition there was a Girl's Auxiliary .three J.A ,'s, and four Little Helper groups active in the parish. In 1957 a celebration was held in Kensington In recognition of fifty years in the Woman's Auxiliary.An interesting papar on these fifty years was prepared and read by Mrs. J.G. Townsend . Three members of fifty years ago were present namely : Mrs. Ray Meek , Mrs. J.B.Profitt ,and Mrs .J.G ..].1 Townsend. Miss Jessie Murphy , a long time member, a faithful and untiring worker,was presented with a Diocesan Life Membership. This meeting was attended by four members of the Diocesan Board- Mrs. W.E.Champion .Ada arris, Mrs. MacPherson , and Mrs. Lyman Davidson . Tea , sandwiches,Ice-cream and Anniversary cake were served to all present. Rev. Eric Ingraham in his closing remarks said " We look back over fifty years of effort and accomplishment and forwadd to a still greater future. At present we should like to feel that " we are no longer thought of merely as a means of obtaining financial aid,but as a Vital Force who are waking a Day-by-Day Witness in the Hoine, in the Parish,, and In the Comratfnlty.".
