and laboured with success in London and elsewhere. He came to Canada first in 1891, served for a short time as a Lay Missioner at St . Paul's Mission in Halifax, and later went back to England . He returned to Canada to take up the same kind of work and was ordained to the Church's ministry, deacon in 1901, and priest in 1902 in St . Mark's, Kensington . He was incumbent of New London , 1901-1905; St . Stephen's, N.B ., 1905-1909; on leave, 1909-1911; Alber- ton, P.E.I. , 1911-1914. He also served at Bedford, and at Berwick, Nova Scotia . He died October 26, 1944, aged 91 years. It is recorded that Mr. Win - field was a fluent speaker, an able organizer, and that he took a keen interest in all matters connected with the social and spiritual life of the Church. ALFRED WILLIAM NICHOLLS Alfred William Nicholls was born in London, England , October 9, 1874. He studied at King's College, Windsor. Bishop Courtney ordained him to the diaconate in December, 1902, and to the priesthood, September, 1903. He was Rector of Guysboro, 1903-1905; Rector of New London , 1905-1910; Missionary Agent for the Diocese of Nova Scotia , 1910-1912; Rector of , 1912-1921. He went to Arizona in 1921 and was Rector of St . Luke's Church, Prescott, until his death, September 12, 1936. He is buried in Cemetery , Prescott. Mr. Nicholls was Bishop's Chaplain in Nova Scotia and Chaplain in Arizona . He edited the Arizona Church Record. When he was Rector of Guysboro Mr. Nicholls married Miss Bertha Thomas . Mrs. Nicholls died in 1956. A daughter lives in California . ALFRED WILLIAM WATSON Alfred William Watson graduated from King's College, Windsor , B.A. , 1905, M.A ., 1909. In January 1905 he was ordained deacon, and he was priested in December the same year. From 1905 to 1906 he was missionary at Inverness , ; from 1906 to 1910 he was stationed at Mulgrave, N.S. ; from 1910 to 1917 Rector of New London . He was Rector of Pictou for three years, served at Charlottetown , 1920-21, and at Granville , N.S. , 1921-1924. In the latter year he moved to Halifax and held the post of Rector of St . Mark's. From 1926 until his resignation in 1949 he was Dio¬ cesan Secretary . He lives in retirement in Granville, N.S. CHARLES WISWELL NEISH Charles Wiswell Neish was born in Halifax in 1884, the son of the Rever¬ end David and Sarah S. Neish . He attended school at Londonderry, received the degree of B.A . from Dalhousie in 1905 with honours in Classics, and later received his M.A . from King's College. He was tutor in Classics at Dalhousie, and he studied Divinity at King's and at the General Theological Seminary , New York . He was made deacon in 1908 and priest in 1909. From 1908 to 1911 he was stationed at Neil's Harbour ; from 1911 to 1917 at Granville; from 1917 to 1923 at New London . He served at Petite Riviere 1923-1928, at New Waterford 1928-1929, and at Port Dufferin 1931-1953. He died at his home in , June 10, 1955. GEORGE TRIMNELL SPRIGGS George Trimnell Spriggs was born in England . He worked on the staff of the C.M.S . and at St . James Church, Hatcham. He studied theology at Wycliffe College, and was ordained deacon by Bishop Reeve in the Church of the Redeemer, Toronto , April, 1907. In 1908 he was raised to the priesthood. From 1907 to 1908 he was incumbent of Arden, Manitoba ; 1909-1911 Balmoral, Manitoba ; 1911-1915, Douglas , N.B. ; 1915-1919 with the Canadian Expedition¬ ary Force; 1919-1921, Neil's Harbour ; 1922-1923 Alberton, P.E.I. ; 1923-1933, Rector of New London ; 1933-1943, Rector of Sydney Mines . He is now retired and lives at Lachute, Quebec . BENJAMIN FREAM Benjamin Fream was born in England , and studied theology in Wycliffe College, Toronto . He was ordained deacon in 1931 and priest in 1932. From 1932 to 1935 he was stationed at Country Harbour, N.S. ; 1934-1942 at New London ; 1942-1944 at , N.S .; 1944-1949 at Crapaud, P.E.I. ; 1949- 1954 at Westphal, N.S. He also served at Neil's Harbour and is now incumbent at Joggins, N.S.
