CAMPBELL, Daniel L . was born in River Denys, (1843-1934), and is the son of Farquhar Campbell (born- Scotland ). Dan came to P.E.I , to teach school. He decided to try something else and left for Boston, Massachusetts to learn carpentry. Dan married Margaret Anne MacNevin daughter of Neil MacNevin . Margaret was born in P.E.I. 1848 and is buried in DeSable . Dan and Margaret had 11 children: Frank N . (1874-1875), Grace Louise (1875-1899), Charlotte Isabel (1877-1925), Flora Jane (1879-1915), Frank Neil (b.1881), Alexander Daniel (1885-1947), Margaret Anne (b.1887), Colin John (1889-1964), James (1892-1893), William Victor (1895-1960),and James (1897-1972). Dan and Margaret lived with their family on a small parcel of land purchased from the MacNevin family and the Campbell home still stands on that piece of land. It has been added to over the years and some changes have been made on the inside but it is much the same as when Dan and Margaret resided there over 100 years ago. The finish work inside the house was done by Dan and we are told he even made some of the furniture that his grandson Victor now has. It has been told that Dan did all the finish work in the Church of Scotland, DeSable and that he also built some of the homes in and around DeSable . This information was acquired from Myron Shaw ( DeSable ) in 1981.
