SAW MILLS; GRIST MILLS, CLOTH AND CARDING MILLS - Qne Saw Mill operated on left branch of Sable River, in the 1820's, owned by a Mr. Johnston of New London and powered with the great overehot
water wheel of that time. The mill site, at the
head of tide mark, had been recommended by land agents survey of 1818 and the whole area set aside
as e Mill Lot.

The cleth nee completely manufactured here a woven, g fulled, dyed and pressed. Delivery was made by express wagon to sales agents in different parte of
the country.
