worship at this Church as'a child with her father, when it was the only place of public worship for Methodist people of the Crapaud, Victoria, Hampton

and DeSable Communities.

The original building had a gallery upstairs and

the pews were furnished with doors.

Many years later, 1882, the Methodist peOple of DeSable, Hampton and South Melville, working to- gether with Orange Lodge members of the same dis- tricts, dismantled, moved, and rebuilt, the old chapel where it stands today at DeSable - South

Melville crossroads.

Generations of Methodist people cherished this place of worship which they called 'The Little Church' - known to some in earlier years as 'The Bush Church',

which was part of the Tryon Circuit.

Many special services, meetings of the Epworth .e League, and prayer meetings were held here. At one time horses were tied in the shelter of the spruce

bush nearby, but later a new horse shed was-built.
