Behind Old St. James’ may be seen the grove of trees commonly called the "church bush".
In. 1968, a receiving vault was erected on the south side of Old St. James’ for the convenience of those who chose to place the remains of the deceased there, rather than open a grave during the winter months. This building bears the following inscription:
