The beautiful stained glass window on the west wall of St. Peter’s was donated in memory of Hon. James Warburton. The builder of St. Peter’s Church, Henry W. Williams (1866—1934), has the unique honor of having assisted in the construction of the three churches presently comprising the Parish of Port Hill. Certainly this Parish was most fortunate to engage a carpenter of his calibre. On the day of his funeral, Rev. A.H. Hart-Davies, speaking to a "filled house", eulogized him by saying: This industry of carpentry, which was his pursuit in life, called forth that which permeated his mind and spirit in sparing neither time, pains or expense, and today we could observe the portrayal of his mind and spirit in this beautiful edifice [St. John’s Church] and also in others which his hands had wrought and erected to his memory. Mr. Williams followed hard after the Carpenter of Nazareth in seeking to perfect everything which was his privilege and duty to perform. 50
