Anglican Church of Canada." The lord Bishop accompanied by his chaplain, the Rev. Canon J.T. Ibbott,

Harrison, Rector of St. Mary’s Church, Summerside, and Archdeacon of Prince Edward Island, was met at the door of the church by the rector of Port Hill, the Rev. M.J. Findlay, who with his church warden, requested the bishop to consecrate the church.

The petition presented by the rector and wardens described the land and building as "free from any legal encumbrance", and "provided with all things necessary for the conduct of divine worship".

The clergy and wardens moved in procession to the chancel. The sentence of consecration was read by the Rev. W. Eric Ingraham, rector of New London, and Rural Dean of Prince Edward Island.

After signing the document and ordering it to be placed among the records of the diocese, the Lord Bishop proceeded with the service of Holy Communion at which the epistle was read by the Rev. A. Piercy, Rector of Milton, and the gospel by Archdeacon Harrison. The Rev. David Minton, Rector of Crapaud and Springfield, was also present.

In his sermon, Bishop Davis recalled the promise of God regarding the temple: "In this place will give peace", and said the church is a place from which Christians go forth into the world as peacemakers.
