REV. HENRY ROGERS COLEMAN 1926 - 1933 Rev. H.R. Coleman, son of Henry Rogers, Sr. and Annie May (Chamberlain) Coleman, was born at Saint John, New Brunswick on July 31, 1901. Following completion of his elementary and secondary education in local schools, he attended University College in Toronto where he studied liberal arts. Remaining in Toronto, he completed theological training at Wycliffe College. Rev. Coleman was ordained deacon in St. Alban’s Cathedral, Toronto, on May 31, 1926 by Archbishop Sweeney. A little over a year later, on June 12, 1927, he was ordained priest by Archbishop Worrell in All Saints’ Cathedral, Halifax. During the summers of 1919 to 1924, Rev. Coleman assisted at Sunday services in the Parish of Rothesay, New Brunswick. He worked with Rev. Canon Daniels who ministered to the congregations of seven churches. Following this, he spent a year as student in charge at a lumber camp in Nicholson Siding near Chaplean, Ontario. The Parish of Port Hill welcomed Rev. Henry R. Coleman in the year 1926. 72
