On April 26, 1935, Rev. Hart-Davies married Grace Lucy Wilkins in Little Trinity Church in Toronto. Their first home was the beautiful rectory of Port Hill Parish. Rev. and Mrs. Hart-Davies had a family of three children, the first of which, Elizabeth Ann, was born April 5, 1938 in Summerside, P.E.I. Sidcup, England was the birthplace of David Vincent on February 14, 1943, and Michael John on July 8, 1947.
During the Second World War, many Prince Edward Islanders on active service in Europe visited the Rev. Hart—Davies’ home in England. Reports of warm hospitality during their periods of leave were common.
Rev. Hart-Davies died in London on February 3, 1961. A memorial service was held at St. James’ Church, Port Hill in April of that year. The comments of his successor, Rev. G.S. Tanton, are a testimony to his achievement:
The Rev. A.H. Hart-Davies served the parish well for five years and on all sides one finds evidences of his ministrations. Possessed of a congenial charitable character, a subtle wit and, above all, a deeply religious nature, he influenced all with whom he came in contact and the parish is the better for his having been here.
