REV. LESLIE ARNOLD DIGNAN 1948 1952

Reverend Leslie Arnold Dignan, son of John T. and Belinda (Heaney) Dignan, was born in Woodstock, Prince Edward Island on January 2, 1910. He attended the local school until age fourteen when he enrolled at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. He taught school until 1927 following which time he returned to Prince of Wales College for a second year of study. He also spent one year at Mt. Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. Rev. Dignan’s teaching career spanned thirteen years and included the following Prince Edward Island schools: Cascumpec, Bloomfield, Woodstock, Unionvale, Carleton and Parkdale.

On September 18, 1939, Leslie Dignan enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army. He served with the 8th Battery for one year at Beach Grove, RBI. and Petawawa, Ontario before going
