Rev. Thomas Aulay Morrison Kerr, son of John Wesley and Dorothy Louise (Morrison) Kerr, was born on November 23, 1938 in Montreal, Quebec. He received his elementary and high school education in Ottawa, and then went on to Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1961. His theological training included two years (1962-1964) at Ely Theological College at Ely, England, University of King’s College, Halifax (L.Th.,1967), and the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax (M.Div.,1975). He also earned in 1984 a Professional Studies in Aging Certificate from the University of Michigan.
Rev. Thomas Kerr was married on December 29, 1967 to Aileen Gertrude Boutilier of Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia. They have two children: Nancy Aileen, born November 1968 in Guysborough, Nova Scotia, and David Andrew, born March 24, 1971 in the Parish of Port Hill Rectory at Birch Hill, Prince Edward Island.
In 1967, Rev. Kerr began his ministry in Nova Scotia as priest in charge at Hatchet Lake and Terence Bay. The years 1968~1970 he spent as rector of Guysborough and Halfway Cove, also in Nova Scotia. He then moved to the Parish of Port Hill for four years before becoming priest in charge at Rawdon, Nova Scotia. Following his service there, he became rector of the Nova Scotia Parishes of Aylesford-Berwick (1975-1980), St. Martin’s (1980-1989), and Antigonish and Country Harbour from 1989 to the present.
Some memories of days at his only Prince Edward Island parish are recalled by Rev.

By the Sunday after Christmas, Erwin, together with Buell Motors in Summerside, had removed, cleaned, repaired and reinstalled the transmission, and the station wagon was on the road again.

(Hopefully those who removed the wine between Maundy Thursday and Easter enjoyed their ill-gotten gains!) Also one remembers Elaine Ellis along with Barb Dennis who, between them, faithfully provided the
music at St. John’s. Then, of course, there is Enid Birch at St. James”; Henry Birch who very kindly installed our telephone for us shortly after we arrived in the Parish (beating the
