ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church at Christ Church, Windsor, N.S. by Rt. Rev. George F. Arnold, then Diocesan Bishop of NS. and P.E.I. In May 1980 Rev. Ball graduated from the Atlantic School of Theology with a Master’s Degree in Divinity. He was appointed Deacon in Charge to the Parish of Port Hill on Nov. 15, 1980 and on the eve of St. Thomas Day, Dec. 20, 1980, he was ordained to the Anglican priesthood at St. James’ Church, Port Hill by Rt. Rev. Leonard F. Hatfield, Bishop of the Diocese of NS. and P.E.I. Rev. Ball was formally inducted into the Parish of Port Hill on April 26, 1981. Rev. Ball was very involved in the social concerns within the communities served by his parish. In particular, he devoted considerable time and effort toward the operation and direction of St. Andrew’s Day Care Centre in Invemess. In 1981 he spear-headed the 140th anniversary celebration of the Parish of Port Hill. (Morrison, pp. 185,187) In 1986, Rev. Leslie A. Ball concluded his ministry in the Parish of Port Hill.
