During the past year we have tried to have the Spiritual Development and Pastoral Relations Committees working as they should, but the introduction of something new is still difficult. Unfortunately, this work is still looked on as the rector’s job! But my thanks do go to those who are helping in this regard. Keep it up. Your work will pay off! This year we will begin organizing the Stewardship Committee.

Our Tuesday Bible Study groups still continue to have one of the highlights of every week. These two groups are vibrant and alive, made up of people who desire to learn more about our relationship with God.

The ACW groups and Ladies Aid are women who deserve a great deal of praise. They continue to be a strength behind each of their churches.

St. James’ Youth Group has been very active this past year, and the Servers of both St. James’ and St. Peter’s are a great asset to the parish. The Mother’s Union continues to meet, but they invite more members from all churches.

All three Church Schools are flourishing, attendance is up, and our thanks goes to the many dedicated teachers. As Dennis Benson said "We have long been accustomed to the notion that the children need the church. We now assert that the church desperately needs the children." I am pleased that so many parents are now bringing their children to the services.

Our annual Harvest Ball was again a great success under the leadership of Patsy and Eldon Campbell. It is a time when we come together as a parish after potato harvesting. This year attendance was down, but the spirit of fellowship was still strong.

Our Parish is part of the planning committee for Mission PEI (a Billy Graham Crusade) to be held July 7-10, 1991. Those of us on this committee find it an exciting commitment, and more people in the parish will be involved as the date becomes nearer.

We have many faithful organists and choir members in St. James” and St. John’s, and band members at St. Peter’s. Our thanks goes to them for their dedication because they add so much to our worship.

Financially, all three churches continue to meet their obligations. A heartfelt thanks goes to our four treasurers who give so many hours to this work.

It would be difficult to thank everyone by name who has worked tirelessly for our parish. We have many dedicated people, and each of you can be assured your efforts are appreciated, especially by our Lord. The detailed report of each organization will give some idea of what is happening in our parish and churches.
