The parish of Palmer Road is celebrating, in 1992, the one hundredth anniversary of its main church, Immaculate Conception, the largest wooden church on P.E.I. The booklet will try to show why, how, and who built it and some developments that affect its continuance as an inspiring centre of parish life.

The parish of Immaculate Conception, Palmer Road, com— monly known as just Palmer Road Parish, consists today of a num— ber of communities which were once one—room school districts. Namely, Skinner’s Pond, Peterville, Palmer Road North, Waterford, Miminegash, St. Louis, Palmer Road South, DeBlois, St. Lawrence, St. Edwards, Leoville, and Pleasant View. Two of these are also incorporated villages: Miminegash and St. Louis.
