NEW PARISH
It was decided by 1878 to set up a new parish at Palmer Road. But the new parish house was only ready by 1882 for its first resident pastor, Rev. A]. Trudelle, who had been at Hope River and St. Peters. At that time the majority of people were Acadian as the Federal Census of 1881 shows. Of a total of 4,639 people in Lots I and 11, 2,804 (61%) were of French Origin. The Pahner Road Census of 1890 showed 759% were French (1,503/2,048). In 1885, Rev. G.A.
