were often “staged” on the hall stage where men sometimes left an imprint on the walls. Lobster dinners were a favorite feature — and still are!
During the 1930’s Youth Study Groups were organized in dif— ferent districts of the Parish. A report sent to the Diocese in 1937 by Merritt Callaghan, a St. Dunstan’s graduate tells of Senior and Junior Holy Name Societies, which organized discussion groups and held entertainments for charity. There was also a Debating Club, Children of Mary Group, Singing Groups, Study Clubs in Miminegash, a Fox Club, League of the Sacred Heart, Societe L’Assumption (Mutuelle Society), Parent—Teacher Clubs, and Women’s Institutes. Plays were put on almost every year around St. Patricks Day or Easter as the play program for 1932 shows.
The old Parish house, built in 1882, was replaced in 1939. One part of the old residence was moved to Miminegash, where it
