RECENT CHANGES More recent developments both spiritual and material are: Stained Glass Window Program, Knights of Columbus, the Partage et Guerison (Widowed, Separated, & Divorced) Group, and the Funeral Co-op. The Stained Glass Window Fund was started as a Centennial Project to have been completed by 1992. It enabled parishioners and former parishioners to further enhance the beauty and spiritual inspiration of the already imposing edifice. A committee under the leadership of Eileen (Chaisson) Pendergast - artist, craftsperson and organizer par excellence - engaged the services of designer John Burden and stained glass crafts person Blaine Hrabi. The committee chose themes and designs appropriate to both the build¬ ing and the messages intended which were then created by the team. The impressive results are described and illustrated in anoth¬ er part of the booklet. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS The Knights of Columbus Council, which was formed during the Pastorate of Rev. Eloi Arsenault , was promoted by Willard Mokler - a descendant of an early settler, Richard Muckler - who had previously joined the Alberton Council. Not long after its inception, the K. of C. was asked by the Pastor and Parish Council to take over the operation of the parish hall. Another contribution to the Parish is the Rev. Richard Ellsworth Scholarship which was organized by the K. of C. and, in 1991-92, gave out $1,000.00 from the interest on the fund. FUNERAL CO-OP Another initiative led by the pastor, Father Eloi, and the K. of C. was the formation of the Funeral Co-op in 1985. This development gained national recognition for the Parish and Pastor because it was the first funeral co-op on P.E.I. The Church Vestry and another room added (Blue Room) were to be used as Funeral Parlours as well as the main church itself if necessary. The first 38
