He was the offspring of , Laughlan MacLean and Flora MacKay , and received his gift from his father's people. Although in his last years he visited his home community only rarely, he is a fiddling legend in the Belfast area. "If Angus Leslie wasn't at the dance it was no good," people say of him. There was one you could take and play but he wouldn' t allow you to touch the other one because that was his. She was in tune all the time, you know, and he didn't want anybody to touch that one.
