TO ALL MY COUSlNS

This book is really meant to inspire you to do, or continue to do, your own special genealogical research.

I have tried to trace all the descendants of my four great grandfathers and of one of my great, great grandfathers. You are among those descendants. So this research may help you with one side of your family tree. But you may wish to develop other lines of your ancestry. There are pages at the back of the booklet to record your findings.

l recommend that you use the system of recording of which I have given an example here. it is an adaptation of what is called the Burke method.

in these genealogies you will no doubt find some errors and, of course, many omissions. What you do is make your corrections in the appropriate place- in pencil if you're just jotting, in pen if you are certain of your fact and want to record it permanently. if you lack room for additions, begin a new listing in the blank pages. Eventually you will need to revise and reprint the whole book. But that's easy and cheap to do in this age of computers. Some of your descendants will appreciate it.

Happy hunting!
