My two years as president were extremely busy, for our programs were being updated and accelerated, our leadership training was being expanded and our involvement with other agencies was rapidly multi- plying, resulting in an excessive number of committee meetings. It was only with the whole-hearted support of a hard working, efficient ex-. ecutive, a dedicated Board, and a competent Mrs. Elizabeth Grimmett from the Department of Agriculture and Forestry that I was able to fulfill my duties as the president of the Prince Edward Island Women’s Institutes while teaching full time. For two years I had been “brought near to the heart of things”, and it was a wonderful privilege.
