May 1977 - Dr. Leone Ross resigned as Viee-President of F. .I.C. and Mrs. Beatrice Reeves was appointed to replace her as P.E.I.W.I. Vice-President.
May 1977 - A mini-seminar was held by the Board on Child Welfare Proposed Legislation with Mr. E .A. MacDonald as resource person.
May 1977 - A new cookbook “The Very Best Recipes” has been compiled and 10,000 copies ordered.
May 1977 - The W.I. Handbook has been revised, retyped and is at the printers.
May 1977 - A survey on the “Role of Women in Rural Development” was done by members of the Provincial Board for the Canadian Council on Rural Development for which the Board received $500. This amount of money was later given to an ACWW Project in Natal, South Africa to assist in leadership training and development.
May 1977 - It was decided to hold a banquet for Past-Presidents every two years when a change of officers was made on the Provincial Board.
June 1977 - The President entertained the Board at her home in Central Lot 16.
June 1, 1977 - The “Helen Herring Scholarship” was created by combining the Home Economics Scholarship and the Law Scholarship and was named in recognition of the many years of invaluable and dedicated service given to the Federated Women’s Institutes of P.E.I. by Mrs. Helen Herring.

Two summer students - Bette Tweedy and Joy Bell - worked on and
prepared programs to help our Family Living programs - A Family Life Program in four parts and New-Trition for Seniors (suitable for very
small families).
A brief on Canadian Unity was presented to the Canadian Task Force on Canadian Unity when this group held public meetings in Charlottetown in October 1977. In this brief we stressed the hope that Canada remains as one country in Confederation.
Quilting workshops were continued in 1977 and again in 1978. Four workshops for beginners were held and one for experienced quilters.
In 1977 a Family Living Workshop was held in Harrington in which problems of behavior (changing values, generation gap, etc.) were discussed and solutions sought.
