Title “Who Should Get The Credit?” The panel was chaired by Beatrice Reeves and the panelists brought out many good points regarding in— fluences on the family structure.

Then the latter part of June your president and delegates attended the Eighth National Convention at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The theme for this Convention was The International Year of the Child. Discussion groups were under the following headings: Role of Parents, School and State in the Lives of Children; Youth and Law, Parenting, Alcoholism and Drug Abuse; Effects of Media on Children, Rights of the Child, Youth Groups, Safety and Quality of Cultural Life.]

Premier Blakeney and Father Larre of Saskatchewan both gave excellent addresses.

There was some time for fun and entertainment. The Saskatchewan members were excellent hostesses and we will always remember this very successful convention.

We had two summer students who made up kits on “Adding Stretch to Your Dollars” and another student who did a survey on foods served in the schools.

The Make Mine Milk Program is being sponsored for the second year. A calendar containing the winning recipes from the previous year was ready for sale in December, 1979.

The Provincial Board submitted the nomination of Mary and Harold Palmer for the Agrologists Award and were very pleased when they were announced the winners.

A Board Workshop was held on September 17 and 18. The theme was “Concerns and Priorities”. It was a profitable two days when plans for programs and projects for the following year were made.

Seven Provincial fall workshops were held with the theme Caring, Coping, Communicating.

Time was given to the upcoming A.C.W.W. Jubilee and Flag Tour celebrations. In 1980 A.C.W.W. will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Each area-vice-president of A.C.W.W. will be given a flag made by the Women’s Institute members of England. These flags will tour the world to create an awareness and understanding of A.C.W.W. and raise money for Pennies for Friendship.

“Energy in Perspective” was the theme of a Seminar sponsored by the P.E.I. Women’s Institute in the fall of 1979. Besides Island delegates, representation from New Brunswick Women’s Institute was welcomed. The seminar, planned as a fact finding and informational meeting, was the result of a resolution passed at the Annual Convention which

requested a study on the various forms of energy.

The presentation was in the form of a panel followed by simultaneous workshop sessions. It was not the intention of this seminar to come to any decision on various forms of energy but solely to give out
